Finished reading this book last Wednesday. Very touching. It started off slowly then it got more interesting as it went along. In a nutmegshell, the story is about a newspaper features writer in Tampa who gets caught up in the aftermath of an airline crash in the area. A resident finds a note, apparently written by a passenger to his daughter. She gives it to the writer who sets out to find who it was intended for. Her search takes her to 3 people who had fathers on the plane. One of them claimed the note to be his, only to get fame.
And then, when the writer least expects it, she gets a visit from a young woman who says the note is really hers and so it is. But that's not the only thing. The young woman turns out to be the daughter that the writer had given away as a young depressed mother, after the death of her young husband. Unexpected twist I thought. Brought a lump to the ole throat.
