This year, like many other years, I'll be home.
In our youth, we always had a swinging fete. Then when I got to young adulthood, some New Year's Eves were spent outside of Jamaica. Here's a list of those (that I can remember).
1987
Ocean Club, Paradise Island, BAHAMAS
Was doing internship there, as part of my university course. I was the restaurant hostess for an open air restaurant at this upscale luxury hotel. Very nice evening. Restaurant Manager allowed me to invite some of my friends, so I think it was Eilean, Gwyn and Emerson who came.
1992
The Queen's Hotel, Leeds, UK
Overseas work experience at this hotel. The theme for that festive season were that we were on a ship, so I was a Deck Hand, all dressed in white. I have the pictures to show for it.
1997 - 2000
Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada, EASTERN CARIBBEAN
Work. Always hard work, but with lovely guests, it didn't feel that way.
So any nice places you've spent NY Eve in the past? Tell me about it.
Not enough time to talk about where spent NYE in the past (me haffi go work)....just dropping by to wish you all the best for '04.

Posted by: Mad Bull at December 31, 2003 01:10 PMMy most memorable New Year's Eve was the one before I met Popsy....(just co-incidence!) I had invited two of my girlfriends over for a quite evening, watching movies and the best part...our midnight feast....this could have been the very first time I cooked a ham myself....Just after midnight a friend of one of the other girls dropped by...(male). He ended up staying with us for the rest of the night and then we all went out by the airport to watch the sun rise.
It was beautiful and very memorable!!Mixing my favourite ingredients...food, friends and a beautiful day!
I should have added that we watched the sunrise at the beach by the airport. You know the rough side of Palisados Road. Not particularly safe but beautiful.
