Then continue....
That incident took place on Caledonia Avenue, near Nuthall Hospital.
Remember I posted a few days ago that the 'Guyanese' doctor sent me to do some blood tests. So I went this morning to a new place in Lane Plaza called Lane Medical.
The lab technician walks out. You again?????
Same man. So I remind him that he called me fat, and told him that I wrote about him. I think he was flattered.
And no, he didn't call me Mich. And yes, he found the vein quickly so no slap slapping of Mich!
Posted by yamfoot at May 15, 2004 12:02 AMcant stand having blood taken. I was ok with it for years but I had one bad experience where the unmannerly nurse struck my muscle instead of the vein an had me in pain for days. now whenever I ahve to go for those things I start to get I wouldnt say scared but anxious. havent hada bad experience since that one which was maybe 10 years ago but everytime i sit in the chair and they start looking for the veins the memories come back.
Posted by: J Did at May 15, 2004 08:47 AMYou know.....dat Med Tech needs a very coarse grade of sandpaper...he has no decorum whatsoever! Bet him wouldn't deal wid a man so. Might jus sell him nuff fabric.
Now, nothing is wong with being friendly with the clients in a nice way, so as not to come across as familiar. It helps to reduce the anxiety and fear assocaited with the needle stick etc. I have patients that I have come to know over the years and we deal practically like bredrins...but at the same time, they know that when it comes to the serious stuff...their health, me naw ramp. I still have their best interest to look about. When we get the medical stuff outta de way, then we chat 'bout anyting...the state of the country, family happnins, dem new gyal....whatever. But, "You again??" Goes to show that people tend to remain the same with time. My comment on your previous post when he referred to your weight was that him feisty, and my comment now is dat him damn fesity!! Actually, could have said it with much more 'expression', but a nuh my site dis, so I will try and curb miself. Outta orda bwoy!
Posted by: Dr. D. at May 15, 2004 10:58 AMI think you misunderstood me. I was the one who thought "you again?"
Posted by: Michelle at May 15, 2004 10:11 PMOops.....Well, I can see why you took that approach though.
(See why I say communication is one of the world's biggest problems...afta me done write the long epistle comment!)
