That's the name of the fete me and Sis just came from at Mas Camp Village on Oxford Road.
We reached shortly after 11pm, place empty. Everybody standing around a big open space. Hour by hour we watched the space fill up, and people needed more room to flex their bodies doing the appropriate dance moves from the 70's, 80's and 90's. As well, more and more people piled in to the place. In fact, when we were leaving we saw a whole set of people outside trying to get in but not allowed to, since the place was by now ram packed with music loving folk.
You shoulda see them when the 'selecta' play some wicked dance hall music from last century. I was saying to Sis that I should have gone to more dances when I was younger.....woulda know how to do those dance moves, and would know the words to the song like how many of the folk did.
In the crowd, spotted two of the gym's trainers, also Gwyn who I used to have a huge crush on in the early 1990's. He used to bring me ice cream at work, and I used to bake pineapple upside down cake for him and give him in exchange. But that was as far as it went.
Well, Burro must be happy with the crowd he got tonight. I must tell you that when we first arrived, I thought that it would be saps, but it turned out to be quite ok. Oh, Burro is the hall name they gave to one of the promoters for tonight's fete - real name Jerome Hamilton from Manchester.
Tomorrow is cricket. No not the West Indies match silly. You learn not to watch those. I mean domestic cricket. Went to both Melbourne and Kensington today (no gun toting police there today). Dwayne Bravo who I had interviewed for the website, was playing for Kensington. He's Trinidadian.
ZZzzzzzzzzzzz
