Murder in the 'hood

About a mile from where we live, maybe mile and a half, a 70 year old woman and her 30 year old daughter were found stabbed to death in their house. A relative who had gone there around 9 this morning discovered the bodies. The house was ransacked.

Sad affair. My dad knows the husband/father.

The thing is, when Alvin's finger got cut the other day, blood just came spewing out of that tiny cut, maybe about 1 inch long. I said to him how could anybody chop up or stab people then....much more blood would be around. Must be a sick soul.

In another part of the metropolitan area, Guys Hill to be exact, an older woman was murdered as well. Stabbed as well. Her daughter went to her defence and was kicked, but not stabbed.

Later, it was reported that residents of the area found the man who did it and chopped him to death. Vigilante justice. Such is life in Jamaica land of beauty.

Unfortunate (or uncivilized) as it may sound, I don't too blame the residents for the vigilante justice. Legal system here takes too long to deliver...if and when they do. Clean up de 'hood quick.

Aaah bwoy.

Tragic Yammie

Saw it in the papers today. SAD, VERY SAD.

If you visit the Back Alley on www.windiesfan.com you will see that sometimes I post personal info on myself there, sort of like a blog..

Recently I got promoted in my job, abd you know I do sales. Part of my route now takes into the heart of downtown Kingston, places like Bond Street, Princess St. West Queen St and Spanish Town Rd, YES the begining of Spaniosh Twn Rd, right by Tivoli Gardens and Denham Town.

I approached it with some trepidition as Michael my fellow rep was held up at gun point and robbed a few months ago.

We have decided not to collect cash downtown as way of prevention. I walk with only an order book in my hand and if there is cash to be picked up I check it off, seal it in a security bag and let the armoured car pick it up.

Also Michael and I work as a team, we rarely venture downtown alone.

You just have to be extra careful, no amount of precaution will 100% prevent things from happening, but you can lessen the possibilty
