A friend of mine flew down last weekend and wrote about the devastation. One of the things he said was this....
There is no more "Rain Forest" in Grand Etang and the wild life, what survived, is roaming and are totally disoriented as their habitat has been destroyed, Monkeys are roaming in packs of 40's. Very few Nutmeg trees are standing as they discovered the roots spread out but do not go very deep in the soil,so the hills are littered with fallen nutmeg trees.
I've driven to Grand Etang many times, and can't imagine this really. Would love to see the monkeys though....
That sounds awful (re the disoriented wild life. At least it will all come back... eventually.

So, the nutmeg industry get a 'blow' fe real! :-(
