The Killing Fields

That's what Kingston is. Imagine travelling on a bus and the next thing is you are staring down the wrong end of a gun?

The killings in Kingston, and in fact the rest of the islands continues unabated. They've hired this British police cop to be in charge of crime. I hope he can use his wide vast experience to do something, and that he will train the people under him in investigative techniques.

Read about this soldier's murder and weep for his family.

Yam Foot, I love your father's comment to the police. We have had the same experience in town (you might say yeps theat's right town is where all the bad things happens) but I was really scared to see a man in our yard as well one night. The Constant Spring Police that is at best a 5min drive away took over an hour to arrive.

By the way, love your site, I stumbled upon it one day and I have been reading your accounts when I get a chance. Have a safe and Holy Easter.

Yep, it looks like the violence is really escalating. I wonder if its politically motivated, you know, trying to force an early election? Its not impoossible, because all politicians think they're hot sh*t and that their getting into office is uber important and in the best interest of the country.... still, the gunmen don't really need any encouragement, they do have it within themselves to do the things I see rported daily...

Thanks Tia. Keep reading.

MB ,it is just idleness and an addiction. The young men don't know any other way to express themselves. It is a substitute for self esteem, which they lack.

The question that is often asked is...
how come these gunmen who supposedly dont have no money, have these kinds of weapons?

the answer that people come up with is that people in upper echelons of society are supplying them with the guns. Those are the people who should be rolled out to sea in a barrel first.

Things are terrible there for true Yammy. I will pray for this soldier's family. the police man did not know why the soldier did not pull his weapon....against four armed men and a bus load of innocent passengers!!! Maybe if he had tried to shoot the gunmen there would have been many more innocent victims.....Who are the police to talk when di police man sat in his car to shout to your father instead of investigating....What is fraid him fraid...and rightly so apparently.
