At the post office today, I was mailing two large envelopes. One to Grenada and one to the UK. The one for the UK had only three sheets of paper in it. The cost quoted was $250.
That's way higher than what I paid the last time I mailed something to the UK. So I asked the attendant if the postal rates had gone up. She said yes, and I asked if it was by 100 percent.
She said no. Then she explained it like this..
"The envelope is long you know, so it adds to the weight. It actually weighs 55g. It's just like how a tall person will weigh more".
I said "Oh yeah, I use that as an excuse as to why I weigh 219 (freaking) pounds."
