Was sharing out dinner for my niece today and I took up a container that had what looked like mince in there. It looked delicious. There was chicken there too and I know she would have preferred that, so I shared that out for her.
I thought about the mince and said to myself "maybe I should just go back to eating meat cause I not losing no weight". At the same time, the lady who had cooked it said "that's the Veggie Mince you had bought".
She must have been reading my mind. I was so happy to have had some hot protein. I was thinking about tin salmon as the protein source.
So gotta buy more of that veggie mince. I had put it in the cupboard and kept procrastinating. She used her initiative and did it. Boy was I grateful. I told her so.
Posted by yamfoot at September 20, 2005 12:23 AMYou need to cut the carbs, cut the fat and hit the gym. that's the only way to loose thefat! I'm battling the bulge myself. Checkout my other blog, the challenge http://challenge05.blogspot.com
Posted by: stunner at September 20, 2005 06:33 AMOh yeh I had that veggie mince thing a couple of times. Nice when it well seasoned up and full of pepper. Almost like meat...but mi love mi meat still!
Posted by: stunner at September 20, 2005 06:34 AMI not envying you on the veggie mince thing at all. I just can't acquire the taste for it.
Posted by: scratchie at September 20, 2005 08:44 AMRight now I am wondering... wtf do I eat for lunch? I am wavering between a Shanghai Chicken Salad from Maedac Midtown, or some pan chicken from Saymour's Jerk Centre.... Seymour's calls it Jerk Chicken, but its really just pan chicken. Still, it tastes good.
I wonder if they have any mannish water? That would go down well now too.... as Oliver said, it root out de gas! ;-)
But tap, when u turn vegetarian Yammie? I not going back to vegetarianism (yes, I used to be one) until dem start manufacture vegetarian ribs, u zimi!

Posted by: Dr. D. at September 20, 2005 06:20 PMYammy girl you'll figure it out what works for you and what doesn't just stick to it.
It so hard to be a vegetarian I agree with Angry dog when they invent veggie pork I'll become one in a heartbeat.
i still eat fish, so that's ok. If there was no fish or seafood, I don't think I could do this.
Stunner, I can't cut out carbs. I need the fuel for my workouts. I have started to eat less before my work out though.
For eg, for a morning workout, I would eat a bowl of porridge (oats) with raisins and ripe banana and honey, plus a slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter and jelly. Now I just have the oats, raisins and banana.
i trying to get used to working out on a near empty stomach.
I also love to have sweet potato before my PM workouts.
Posted by: Michelle at September 20, 2005 07:33 PMBeing a slave to meat personally, I didn't think you have the strength to last so long. I'm always sceptical about attempts to stop eating meat. I must say I'm pretty impressed.
Posted by: Marc at September 20, 2005 09:05 PMHi Yamfoot-I hear your frustration. Going through the same thing. I found with a combination of proteins and veggies and fruits with cario 3 times a week that works for me. Plus eating lightly in the evenings and not pass 7:00pm. Have you had your thyroids checked?
Posted by: sunshine at September 22, 2005 08:31 AMyup.. thyroid is ok.
