You know I am in Grenada right? Well, there is an underwater volcano to the north of the island. Its name is 'Kick 'em Jenny'. After the tsunami in Asia in December 2004, it brought back to mind the fact that the volcano here could erupt at any time! Yikes!
Today, the seas on Grand Anse Beach are very rough. So of course, you know, it got my mind racing again.....could this be the volcano erupting? They tell me that I am too scared, and its just rough seas.
Well, the sea normally looks like this....
Today, the sea looks like this.....
I know I aint crazy.....this is NOT normal.
Oh my..... that is scary looking stay out of the water girl :o)

Posted by: Campfyah at January 30, 2006 03:28 PMI agree with Camp...wonder if it is related to the heavy wind conditions we were having Friday night into Saturday last?
Posted by: Dr. D. at January 30, 2006 08:27 PMThose waves look like something you'd see on the Pacific Coast . . . pretty rough for the Carib.
Posted by: zenitra at January 31, 2006 12:50 AMAs a Grenadian myself, that last pic is highly unusual. Ask some of the Grenadians in residnece about storm surges that they have had in the last 5 year.... there have been a couple incidents. And I would stay out of the sea until things calm down. That's the normally placid Caribbean Sea side of the island and not the Atlantic side (near Pearls)
