Male homosexuals not safe in Jamaica

Ambassador Peter King found murdered.

They are attacked by heterosexuals and presumably by their own too! Damn. Reminds me of E V Ellington's murder several years ago. Is Rex Nettleford on the list too?

Funny,
But that same thought crossed my mind as Francis and I discussed this guy's death tonight. Is (Rex) safe?
This is all so, so sad, each and every single day all this blood shed. Self hate is ruling the minds of many folks in JAH. I read " born fe dead" a few nights ago, lordy.Something has to change.
Tonight, I longed for the false sence of safety I had in the streets of Washington DC, as at least the cops showed in less than 10mins flat.Well I also lived 5mins from the White house, and it is currently cold. go figure.

When I heard about it, EV Ellington's death did cross my mind....I can't even remember if I was in med. school yet when that happened.

As a practising homo, living outside the confines of JCAN homophobic society, for sure a lot of these murders are being committed by low life, classless ppl, many of whom are actually homos themselves. In most cases these high profile individuals put themselves at risk, but who are we to judge? They are adults, & their private lives and choices are theirs. If we judge them, judge them humanely, on their contribution to society. P King for instance singlehandedly encouraged a lot of trade & investment to Jamaica (even Digicel has publicly acknowledged it was King who brought them to JCA). This created employment, investment & foreign exchange! Why drag his name in the mud & raise issues which are irrelevant to the case? Fact is, another well thinking JCAN was murdered! And thats all thats relevant, the police, thanks to direction of foreign input (Mark Shields etc) seem to be taking the right approach to the investigation. So much has to change in JCA, & it all begins in the mind!!
