Ahem - I've seen lawlessness and disorder right here in the US, as well as in England and France. First world status is really about everyone having access to the basics - food, clothing, shelter, and education. That is definitely worth aiming for.

I doubt highly that will ever happen. As a firm beleiver in World Systems Theory, I cannot see it happening. Even the so called Jewel of Developed Countries (Singapore), with all its qualifiers indicating that it is of First World standard...it is always termed the "best of the developing world". No way Jose...I agree with Mad Bull...election hot air...just like the other stuff...free dis and dat.

Does that mean that we fold our arms and die ? Sometimes we have to make a choice between bad and worse...those of us who live in Jamaica have to face this reality. I reject mediocrity and arrogance.
